Dear Pathology Informatics Community,

As President of the Association for Pathology Informatics (API), it is my pleasure to invite you to join us for the Digital Pathology and AI Workshop 9.0, taking place November 6-8, 2025 at Google HQ Chicago and Endeavor Health in Evanston, Illinois.

The DP-AI Workshop has become a cornerstone of API’s educational mission—bringing together experts, innovators, and learners to explore the evolving landscape of digital pathology and artificial intelligence. Over two dynamic days, we’ll examine how these technologies are reshaping diagnostics, accelerating discovery, and improving patient outcomes.

Our program features sessions by industry leaders, thought-provoking panels, a tour of the Endeavor Lab with live demonstrations by vendors, and networking events designed to bridge the gap between research, clinical practice, and implementation. This year’s agenda highlights real-world use cases, data integration strategies, AI validation approaches, and the regulatory and ethical considerations shaping our field. You can view the full schedule here: https://apai.memberclicks.net/dp-ai-9-0-schedule.

What makes this workshop special is the spirit of collaboration it fosters. Whether you are a practicing pathologist, a data scientist, a resident, or a technology partner, your participation helps advance the shared goal of transforming pathology through innovation.

On behalf of API and our planning committee, I warmly encourage you to attend. Your engagement, insights, and enthusiasm are what continue to make this event—and our community—so vibrant.

To learn more and register, please visit the DP-AI 9.0 website at https://www.pathologyinformatics.org/dp-ai-9-0-registration-information.

I look forward to seeing you in Chicago and Evanston for this event!

Warm regards,

Lisa-Jean Clifford
President, Association for Pathology Informatics

We are excited to announce the Digital Pathology-Artificial Intelligence (DP-AI) Workshop will host its 9th year at Endeavor Health in Evanston, Illinois, just outside Chicago. This meeting provides overviews and deep-dives into Endeavor’s use of DICOM to improve workflow, develop interoperability, and build the lab of the future using digital pathology and AI in an enterprise health setting.

The first day will feature presentations by local and international experts at Google Headquarters in Chicago, IL. This is a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about Endeavor Health’s innovative approach to integrating digital pathology and AI into their laboratory systems alongside comparative use cases from other hospital systems across North America. On the second day, attendees will be shuttled to Endeavor Health in Evanston to tour multiple laboratory spaces, following specimen collection, processing, and delivery to pathologist workstations and analysis.

Programming Themes:
1) Institutional/Clinical Practice and Vendor Collaboration;
2) DICOM and its role in DP-AI;
3) Digitization, Automation, and DP-AI for building the AP Lab of the Future;
4) The Role of Foundation Models, Generative AI/LLMs, and Agentic AI in Pathology, with a deep dive into the Current State of Regulatory Affairs in DP-AI
