What is the PI Summit? The Pathology Informatics Summit (PI Summit) continues its proud tradition of convening the foremost thought leaders and innovators in clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology informatics. Each year, the Summit offers a comprehensive program of forward-thinking sessions across disciplines, including: As digital pathology advances and laboratory-driven precision medicine transforms clinical practice, pathology informatics has become the central nervous system of modern healthcare. It governs how diagnostic data is generated, analyzed, and shared—directly shaping the flow of patients through the therapeutic process. From the moment a specimen is collected to the initiation of a targeted treatment plan, informatics ensures that information moves accurately, securely, and efficiently. The efficiency of this flow is essential to quality, impacting everything from diagnostic turnaround time to clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. Why attend PI Summit?
“As the Chair of a leading Pathology Department in the AI/Digital pathology innovation space, I see the annual Pathology Informatics Summit Meeting as one of the premier opportunities for identifying new and critically important technologies. The timely deployment of these technologies within our numerous departmental computational pathology initiatives is central to advancing our research and educational programs. The Pathology Informatics Summit brings together both thought leaders and departmental section heads, who hold direct purchasing authority and are eager to deploy solutions. New vendors in the Pathology AI and Digital Imaging space would be well-served by exhibiting at this meeting.” - John Tomaszewski, MD, MASCP, Chair, Department of Pathology, University of Buffalo
“Not only do I come for the presentations, but I also come for the conversations. I have always found the exhibitor area to be extremely valuable at the APIII/Pathology Informatics Summit. I look forward to talking to the vendors, learning about new technological advancements and innovation, and bringing that information back to my institution.” - Dave McClintock, MD, Chair, Division of Computational Pathology and Artificial Intelligence, Mayo Clinic Why API?The Association for Pathology Informatics (API), a non-profit professional organization, serves as the organizing body for the Summit. Its mission is to advance the field of pathology informatics through education, collaboration, and innovation. API and its meetings are regarded as incubators for new ideas and technological applications. Not only does API host meetings that showcase advanced research, it also fosters a community for thought-leaders and stakeholders, both practitioners and vendors, in pathology informatics to explore and challenge the boundaries of what is available in digital pathology, IT systems, and artificial intelligence for existing hospital and laboratory institutions. API appreciates that progress is made through close partnerships. API is also constituted by individual volunteers, many of whom are leading Pathologists and researchers uniquely positioned to identify, implement, and promote cutting-edge projects. Many of our volunteers, speakers, and attendees are decision-makers sitting ”in the room” when budgets are written, proposals are reviewed, and decisions are made.
