API Young PhysiciansEmpowering the Next Generation of Pathology Informatics LeadersWelcome to the API Young Physician Section – a vibrant and dynamic community dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of young professionals in the field of Pathology Informatics. Our Mission:At the API Young Physician Section, we are committed to fostering a supportive environment where emerging pathologists and informaticists can connect, collaborate, and cultivate their skills. Our mission is to provide a platform that encourages communication, networking, collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and professional advancement, ensuring that our members are well-equipped to lead the future of pathology. Who We Are:We are a collective of forward-thinking fellows, residents, scientists and pathologists/informaticists within their first five years of practice, passionate about integrating technology with pathology. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, united by a shared enthusiasm for advancing the field of pathology informatics. The Young Physician Section was founded in 2023 with the blessings of API leaders like J. Mark Tuthill, MD and Ulysses G. Balis, MD and co-lead by pathology informatics fellows back then Omar Z. Baba, MD (Henry Ford Health) and Rand Abou Shaar, MD (UPMC). Following a successful hybrid meet and greet with great participation from both trainees and early career faculty at the PI summit 2023 in Pittsburgh, there was strong momentum to continue activities.
