Mentoring Mondays' Fireside Chat:
"Lab Standards: Experience with Development, Implementation, and Benefits"
Brought to you by API's Technical Standards Committee, Dr. Victor Brodsky, Dr. Steven Hart, Dr. Peter Gershkovich, Dr. Noah Hoffman.
Our chat is focused on how and when standards have benefited/suffered from the presence or absence of standards. We’ll also talk a little about the life cycle of a standard, the differences between syntactic (grammar) and semantic (meaning) standards, and have an informal conversation about how you as a pathology informatician can champion the benefits of standards at your workplace. The Technology Standards Committee will be there to shed light on any misunderstandings, difficulties, or just plain lack of exposure to standards. So feel free to come and learn something or just see what sort of standards are out there.
